GAINESVILLE - The Department of Dance at Brenau University is working with the Merce Cunningham Trust of New York City to present a "minEvent" in New York next month.

Former Merce Cunningham Dance Company member, Carol Teitelbaum, visited Brenau for a two-week residency to teach classes and set pieces of Merce Cunningham's dance repertory on our dance majors.

The minEvent will feature Brenau dancers in costumes designed by faculty member Fred Lloyd and vocal music of composer John Cage, performed live by music major Arielle Crumley.

Brenau's participating dancers are: Bonnie Acree, Amanda Bonilla, Melinda Cassiday, Paris Hawkins, Emily Lemons, Savannah Long, Shanik Moore, Jenny Ray, Teniquia Westry, and Brianna Wiggins.

They will perform at New York City Center, Dance Studios, Feb. 28.
