GAINESVILLE - Former Hall County Commissioner and Gainesville attorney Ashley Bell said on WDUN's Afternoon News Wrap that he is considering a bid for State School Superintendent.

Current Superintendent John Barge announced last fall that he would be running for Governor.

"In the last several weeks I have been getting a lot of calls asking me to take a serious look at running for School Superintendent," Bell told ANW host Derreck Booth.

"It's a race where a lot of people would like to see a different set of leadership skills and backgrounds in the race," Bell iterated.

"We are very seriously looking at it."

Pressed gently by Booth for his position of a run for the office, Bell deflected a decision at that moment saying, "We'll be making our minds up by the first week of February."
