MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Mimi Hill's season-high 30 points spearheaded the University of North Georgia women's basketball team to a 76-62 Peach Belt Conference win over the University of Montevallo Wednesday evening in UM's Trustmark Arena. Stephanie Huffman and Keeley Chester added 18 and 13 respectively as the Nighthawks' starting five accounted for all of the team's scoring aside from a Molly Rainwater three-point basket.

The win is North Georgia's eighth consecutive as the Nighthawks improve to 10-1 overall and remain the Peach Belt Conference's only unblemished team with a 4-1 league ledger. The loss marks Montevallo's sixth consecutive as the Falcons fall to 3-9 and 0-5 in PBC play.

Huffman rounded out her third consecutive double-double with a career-high 18 rebounds and completed a solid stat line with four steals. Hill's 30 point outburst marked a new season-high for the senior forward as she has crested the 20-point barrier in five of her last six outings.

A layup by Chester with 6:05 remaining in the first half gave North Georgia its largest lead of the period (28-13) but the Falcons responded with a 14-4 run to cut the deficit down to five with 1:31 before the half. A three-pointer by Jordan Livesay would send the Nighthawks to the locker room with a 35-27 cushion.

Hill's layup at the 14:08 mark of the second half extended North Georgia's lead to a game-high 16 points (54-38) only to see Montevallo fight back to trail by six (58-52) courtesy of a another 14-4 run punctuated by an old-fashioned three-point play by Shay Bonner. UNG answered with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to regain a double-figure lead and connected on 6 of 7 free throws in the final minutes to pick up the victory.

Taylor Beverly led Montevallo with 19 points while Bonner added 13. Kaylin Foreman came off the bench to add 11 points and round out the Falcons' double figure scorers.

North Georgia returns to action on Saturday, January 11th when No. 19 Clayton State University invades Memorial Hall for a 1:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference clash.
