CLARKESVILLE - Habersham Electric Membership Corporation crews have restored power to one Habersham County neighborhood, where 25 homes were affected.
Residents of Grand Oaks Plantation off Fred Pitts Road near Clarkesville say their power was restored just before 11:30 p.m., less than two hours after being reported initially.
Nicole Dover of Habersham EMC reports crews are on the scene at Grand Oaks Plantation off Fred Pitts Road as of 10:45 p.m. That outage was reported at 9:32 p.m.
Streets affected included Five Oaks Drive, Cricket Lane, Grand Magnolia Lane, Grand Magnolia, and Windsong Ridge Drive, the site states.
Two HEMC customers on Virgil Hunt Road in Cleveland also were without power as of 8:26 p.m.. Their service had been restored by 10:45 p.m., Dover said.
Just after 10:15 status check, the outage report on HEMC's website showed a large outage affecting 46 customers in White County. Fortunately, that turned out to be a map error and affected only one person, Dover said. HEMC is working with that consumer.
New outages showing as of 11:45 p.m. included one in the area of Cool Springs Road and Georgia Highway 17 near Clarkesville affecting two customers, and one on Applewood Court in Habersham County affecting four customers.
