Hall Co. investigators search for suspect in Ingles pharmacy robbery
FLOWERY BRANCH - Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office are searching for a man who stole pharmaceuticals from a grocery store pharmacy on Highway 53 Tuesday morning.
Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Mitchell said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. when a man approached the pharmacy in the Ingles Grocery Store in the 4200 block of Winder Highway in Flowery Branch. The suspect told employees that he was armed, but employees told investigators they never saw a weapon.
Mitchell described the suspect as a white male, approximately 6'1" – 6'3" tall,
with dark hair. He was reportedly wearing a black running suit. The suspect was also described as wearing a "medical gauze patch" on his face.
Mitchell said the suspect fled the business in a newer model four-door
passenger vehicle that was either white or silver. He said a quantity of pharmaceuticals was taken in the robbery, but did not indicate the exact amount of type of drugs stolen.
In addition to Hall County deputies, officers from the Oakwood Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol searched the area for the suspect following the robbery, but were unable to find him.
Mitchell said no one was hurt in the incident.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Hall County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 770-531-6879.
Oakwood Police Tuesday afternoon released information on a similar robbery that happened at a Winder Highway pharmacy. Oakwood Police Investigator Danny Sridej said it happened several weeks ago at a CVS pharmacy. Police believe it involved the same suspect.
