By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) -- Forecasters say heavy rains and severe storms are possible across Georgia as a weather system moves through Sunday.
The National Weather Service says the threat of scattered storms and isolated tornadoes will start in the state's northwestern corner before dawn.
A weather system moving into the state from Alabama will spread southwestward through the day, creating a risk for bad weather statewide.
Forecasters say southwest and northeast Georgia could receive as much as 4 inches of rain, and other areas could receive an inch or more of rain.
North Georgia and parts of Central Georgia are under a flood watch, and more watches or warnings could be issued. (See separate posting.)
Unseasonably high temperatures in the 70s are forecast for most of the state, and temperatures could climb to near 80 degrees in south Georgia.
