Aquinas wins Class A private crown over Calvary Day

ATLANTA -- Liam Welch threw two touchdown passes to Daniel Lindsay, and Augusta's Aquinas High won its first Georgia state football championship with a 27-7 victory over Savannah's Calvary Day.
Friday's win at the Georgia Dome completes a perfect season for Aquinas as the team claims the Class A Private School title.
Welch completed 9 of 12 passes for 132 yards, and Ruben Garnett rushed for 111 yards in 19 carries, scoring on a 37-yard run.
Robert Heyward scored Calvary Day's touchdown on a 16-yard run and finished with 154 yards on 27 carries.
