Two suspects connected with weekend Woodstock murder arrested in Dawson County
DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County authorities have arrested two suspects connected with a weekend murder in Cherokee County, while a third suspect is still on the loose.
According to a report from Fox 5 News, detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday morning that arrest warrants had been issued for John Michael Taylor, 27, of Acworth, Krystle Gail Taylor, 27, of Dawsonville, and Benson Kyle Lloyd, 28, of Jasper, all of whom are believed to have been involved in the murder of 47-year-old Christopher Pierce, who was found dead Sunday inside his Woodstock home.
Fox 5 reports that by Tuesday afternoon, authorities had located a home in Dawson County where two of the suspects were seeking refuge. Sheriff’s deputies and SWAT personnel were dispatched to the home on Tuesday evening, where they surrounded the suspects.
Police were able to arrest one of the suspects, Krystle Taylor, early on, while the second individual remained inside the home. Sheriff Billy Carlyle said that negotiators dealing with the suspect, later identified as John Taylor, were ultimately able to convince him to surrender to authorities, according to Fox 5’s report.
Benson Lloyd has thus far continued to evade capture, and authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
All three suspects are believed to be drug dealers with connections to a number of north Georgia counties, including Cobb, Catoosa, Pickens and Cherokee.
