Atlanta picked for Nobel Peace gathering
By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta has been selected to host the 2015 gathering of the Nobel Peace laureates.
Mayor Kasim Reed made the announcement Friday. He says it's the second time the gathering has been held in the U.S. and the first time in the South. He said Atlanta's selection matters as far as its position as a major city.
More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the event.
