CLEVELAND - Cleveland police report the arrest of two people they say are connected to numerous electronic burglaries across north Georgia.
Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said the suspects are identified as 22-year-old Courtney Rachel Duncan and 48–year-old Preston Dale Nichols, both of Murrayville.
Foster said the two were taken into custody on Oct. 28 after being spotted by officers in front of Aaron Rentals in Cleveland.
The two have been charged with the theft of electronics from the Walmart in Cleveland as well as other Walmart stores.
"At the time of arrest, the individuals were in possession of a magnetic Alpha S3 Handkey, which they used to unlock the electronics from the display.”
The key is capable of unlocking other locks on TVs and electronic devices.
According to Foster, the two have admitted to taking items from stores in the north Georgia area.
He said they have heard from officials from as far away as Henry County, where the two are suspected of selling items to pawn shops.
Foster said police are still investigating this case and more charges will be filed against the two.
Nichols remains in the White County Detention Center, Duncan has been released on bond.
