LAWRENCEVILLE- Gwinnett County authorities are investigating the discovery of a young girl's body found in a trash bin at a Lawrenceville apartment complex Saturday.
Gwinnett County Police Department officers responded to a suicide threat call at 1131 Veranda Chase Drive, unincorporated Lawrenceville, at 3:43 am Saturday. A male called 911 stating that he wanted to commit suicide. While talking to dispatchers the male stated that there was a dead body with him at the location. He stated that his 10 year old daughter had drank some type of chemical and was deceased.
Officers arrived on scene and located a male standing in the breezeway of one of the buildings in the complex. The male pointed to a trash bin in the recreation area for the apartment complex. Officers went over to the trash can and located the badly burned corpse of the child. Officers checked the apartment but no one else was located inside.
The victim has been identified as 10 year old Emani Moss. The father, Eman Moss, and the step mother, Tiffany Moss, have been arrested. They are both being charged with felony murder, cruelty to children in the first degree, and concealing a body. Both are being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
The Gwinnett County Police Criminal Investigations Division is still handing the investigation and say more details will be released in the coming days.
