GAINESVILLE - Georgia Senator Renee Unterman recently urged Republican Women of Hall to run for office and to be incubators of future women political candidates.

Sharing her experiences as the lone woman in the Georgia Senate, Unterman emphasized the necessity of Republican women mentoring future women candidates for public office.

"Women need to step up and run knowing they have 100 women like you behind them," Unterman said.

Unterman was keynote speaker at the inaugural meeting of the Republican Women of Hall. During the meeting Unterman received the 2013 Family Medicine Legislative Champion of the Year Award given by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFT).

Club president Martha Zoller, a past candidate for U.S. Ninth District Representative to the U.S. House of Representatives, welcomed members and guests to the September open meeting of the Republican Women of Hall held at the Silver Bay Seafood Restaurant on Browns Bridge Road. As part of the club’s Caring for America and community effort, Qiana Keith shared information about the Genesis Council of Gainesville.

Rose Wing, President of the Georgia Federation of Republican Women (GFRW), presented the Republican Women of Hall (RWHall) with the club’s official charter from the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). On hand to celebrate the new club were Georgia’s First Lady and a Charter Club Member, Sandra Deal, and Immediate Past State GOP Chairman, Sue Everhart.

As a Federation member, the Republican Women of Hall provide an avenue of political involvement for women who share Republican philosophy and who wish to educate, empower, and elect fellow Republicans to office.
