LAWRENCEVILLE - Where do you go in September when the county fair has left town and the state fair is too far away? Try Coolray Field Ė the home of the Gwinnett Braves - for the Fourth Annual Public Safety Fall Festival.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coolray Field at 2500 Buford Drive.

Gwinnett County's firefighters and police officers will partner with the Gwinnett Braves for the annual event.

"This festival demonstrates Gwinnett Countyís commitment to public safety for our residents. This fun, free, educational event will feature the best of Gwinnett," said Lieutenant Colin Rhoden, Gwinnett County Fire Public Information Officer.

The festival is free and open to all ages and will showcase several public safety attractions and entertainment. Cheer for either the Fire Departmentís softball team or the Police Departmentís softball team as they play on the G-Braves ball field. This long-standing rivalry will be played as other events go on at the ballpark. Events include a car & motorcycle show, SWAT & Fire demonstrations and displays of a helicopter & other emergency vehicles. Community safety partners will have booths and activities for the whole family. Meet McGruff the crime dog, Sparky the fire dog and other local character mascots.

For more information, contact the Gwinnett Fire Community Risk Reduction-Education Section at 678.518.4845.
