BALDWIN - Baldwin Police Chief Jesse Varner and Sgt. David Moulder have resigned.

Moulder is speaking out on his departure from the department.

"I feel that I was wrongly let go from Baldwin Police Department and coerced into signing a pre-typed resignation letter over a legal traffic stop, legal citation and legal arrest," Moulder said by telephone Tuesday morning. "I feel like I was pushed out of my position for political reasons."

Moulder's resignation was effective Thursday, Sept. 12, while Varner's resignation was effective Friday, Sept. 13.

Reached by telephone, Varner confirmed he resigned "for personal and professional reasons."
