Oakwood theft suspect may be in Mexico

OAKWOOD - A woman arrested late last year in Oakwood for stealing wallets across Hall and Gwinnett counties is now believed to be in Mexico, where she is said to be continuing her criminal activities.
Oakwood Police Department Investigator Danny Sridej said Teresa Lynn Owens, 48, bonded out of the Hall County Jail after her arrest in December 2012. She then left the area and traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where Sridej said she is thought to have committed other thefts.
Right now, though, Sridej believes Owens and her boyfriend Charles "Chuck Estes" are in Mexico.
He said the pair are thought to be living at the Raquet Club, San Juan, Colia, Mexico, where Owens is soliciting for house sitting jobs from some of the
wealthy, elderly residents of the community.
Sridej said he is working now to coordinate an arrest with law enforcement officials in Mexico, although he said that has been a challenge so far.
