Cross country: Chestatee girls, North Hall boys win West Hall meet
OAKWOOD -- The Chestatee girls and the North Hall boys cross country teams claimed the West Hall Invitational on Tuesday in Oakwood.
The Lady War Eagles won their third consecutive meet, led by Sarah Beth English, who placed third overall in a time of 21:00. Maggee Wilson also finished fifth in 21:32.6 and Merrie Barnett took eighth.
Union County's Emma Garrison took individual honors at the meet, finishing in 19:50. She was followed by North Hall's Makayla Ellis (20:34).
Chestatee was followed in the team standings by second place White County, while North Hall was third, Buford fourth and North Forsyth fifth.
Meanwhile, the Trojans claimed the boys side, paced by Bryce Shuebert's winning time of 16:41. He was hotly pursued by teammate Quintin Miles in second with a 16:45. Zack Hill and Seth Chapman rounded out a sweep of the top four spots by North Hall.
Chestatee finished second as a team in the boys portion, led by Jason Dang's 17:38.7 finish. Forsyth Central also claimed third, Gainesville fourth and Buford fifth.
The Lakeview Academy boys finished sixth with three runners in the top 10.
Dustin Snyder placed sixth with a time of 16:55, Dalton Snyder was eighth in time of 17:08, and Lewis Brooks finished 10th overall with a 17:15 time.
