GAINESVILLE - Schools in Hall County paused Wednesday morning to mark the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington.
One example: at 8:30, students, faculty and staff at the Academies of Discovery at the Da Vinci Academy gathered at the school's flag pole. The Star Spangled Banner and taps were played and the flag was lowered to half-mast. There was also a brief lesson on patriotism.
Below is a link to a video created by West Hall High School to help this generation of students better appreciate the significance of 9/11.
