Boy found in Forsyth County is Cobb County runaway
CUMMING - It turns out the young boy found alone in Forsyth County Tuesday night is a runaway from Cobb County.
Forsyth County authorities found the boy on Highway 9 near McFarland Road.
The boy initially told the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office his name was Jonathan Frances and he was ten years old.
According to Fox 5, authorities have discovered the boy actually has a different name and is 12.
Forsyth County authorities posted the boy's picture on their Facebook page to help find his parents.
The TV station reports a citizen of Cobb County noticed the Forsyth County picture was the same boy shown in a missing person's report from Cobb County Tuesday.
"Once we found out where this young child was from, we contacted (the) Cobb County Police Department, and they did in fact have a police report on the missing person," Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater told Fox 5.
Authorities were expected to reunite the boy with his mother Wednesday, while they interviewed the two.
The boy apparently ran away from home two times last year, according to Fox 5.
"We found a police report going back to February of 2012 where he ran away. Cobb County Police found him. Another time (at) Halloween of last year and now this time," Rainwater said.
