YouFit Health Clubs sets sights on Buford, Suwanee
BUFORD - Youfit Health Clubs is about to open its fourth club in the Atlanta/North Georgia area and more are coming, according to YouFit Founder/Owner Rick Berks.
Berks said his first club in the area, which opened in Norcross in March, and his second one in Kennesaw, are both experiencing great success. His third club opened in Douglasville just two weeks ago. Now Berks is opening a club in Buford at 3333 Buford Drive – his 57th in America. A new club in Suwanee is opening shortly. Berks said the company is scouting out additional locations in Georgia.
Berks said his business model is non-traditional, geared to the average person and not the gym rat. He said one of the most unique aspects of his health clubs is the "green" factor, noting that the floors, for example, are made of recycled tires or Nike “grind” (recycled sneakers!).
"We’re building clubs for people who don’t want to deal with the trauma and drama of the usual health club," Berks says.
"We’re really excited about the Atlanta market," Rick Berks said. "We’re getting people in the Atlanta area off the couch. We’re creating new businesses here. And we’re creating them in a way that’s good to the environment."
