FCPC to hear requests for 500+ single-family lots

CUMMING - The Forsyth County Planning Commission (FCPC) will hear six requests later this month for several proposed residential developments encompassing 553 lots for single-family homes.
The largest of the proposed projects calls for a 192-lot subdivision on Chamblee Gap Road near its intersection with Canton Highway. The Ryland Group wants the property, totaling 88 acres, rezoned for 192 lots.
A 115-lot development is planned by The Providence Group of Georgia, LLC, on Peachtree Parkway near the Brookwood Road intersection; Ballantry Homes plans a 105-lot subdivision on 35 acres on Nichols Road near Summerwind Way; a 61-lot subdivision is proposed for Dave's Creek Drive near Old Atlanta Road by Lennar-Georgia, Inc.; 54 lots are planned by on 20 acres Edge City Properties, Inc. at Old Atlanta Road and Gilbert Road; and, a 26-lot development is proposed by Southern Real Estate Holdings, LLC, for nine acres Kelly Mill Court near Drew Road.

The plannning commission is scheduled to consider the requests at a meeting Aug. 27 at 6:30 in the county commission meeting room in Cumming.
