GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Department of Transportation Wednesday announced several projects including some resurfacing work in part of Hall County.
Local work includes four miles of resurfacing on Holly Springs Road or State Route 82 from the Jackson County line to Gillsville Highway or State Route 323. Pittman Construction of Conyers got the contract for $493,949.
"This section of State Route 82 has been in the plans to be resurfaced for almost two years now," Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope said.
It's expected to finish in June of next year. Pope said the project likely won't start until next spring.
"As soon as the contractor begins to schedule work, we'll let folks know about it."
DOT also announced nine miles of resurfacing on State Route 10 in Gwinnett and Walton counties. The project begins east of State Route 124 and runs to west of Tom Brewer Road. Pittman is also the contractor for the project valued at $4.3 million.
The projects announced Wednesday also include a $3.5 million contract for the demolition and removal of the toll plaza on Georgia 400 in Fulton County.
