GAINESVILLE - Hall County authorities have arrested a Suwanee man and charged him with commercial gambling following a search of a convenience store east of Gainesville.
"We'd gotten information that the Shell station which is located at 2580 Monroe Drive was paying out cash for winnings off of the video poker type machines," Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Lt. Scott Ware said.
Ware said 59 year old Byong Soo Chong was the only person charged.
Ware said agents confiscated a computer and about $4000 cash. He said they don't find too many video gambling violations any more.
"With all of the legislation and the laws, it kind of died out, however occasionally we do find stores that are still doing it," Ware said.
Chong was arrested Tuesday.
