Autopsy report rules out foul play in Lanier death

GAINESVILLE - An autopsy report for the woman found dead on Lake Lanier Friday has ruled out foul play.
"The autopsy results came back from the crime lab today and there was no sign or indication of any foul play," said Hall County Sheriff's Office Chad Mann. "Only superficial cuts that one would get maybe passing through the brush in order to get to the lake."
The death of 32 year old Michelle Baxter is still under investigation and a toxicology exam is currently in progress. According to Mann, the toxicology report could take two weeks to complete, delaying an official cause of death.
Baxter was a single mother of four and her children were under 16.
Her mother, Diane Sanders, spoke out to Fox 5 yesterday and said her daughter was a good swimmer and was skeptical that her daughter drowned. "I feel that there's something going on," Sanders said. "Somebody did it to her."
