CUMMING - A woman turned herself in to Forsyth County authorities Tuesday to face a list of charges, alleging she stole money in her role as a bank employee.

Sheriff's Deputy Courtney Spriggs said 56 year old Deborah Stewart of Cumming faces the felony counts for allegedly stealing over $28,000. Investigators believe the theft happened late last year.

"I know that investigator (Frank) Karic's activity log, it said that it possibly could have been from several customers," Spriggs said.

Stewart worked at First Citizens Bank of Georgia on Bethelview Road.

Spriggs said the bank CEO and President reported the case to investigators early this year. They took warrants for Stewart last week.

"Theft by taking, forgery in the third degree, three counts of that, financial identity fraud, three counts, computer theft, computer trespass and computer forgery. All of those charges are felonies," Spriggs said.

Stewart on Wednesday afternoon was being held on $70,900 bond.
