GAINESVILLE - Atlas Pizza, a long time downtown Gainesville restaurant, announces the purchase of the two-story, 32,000-square-foot “Treasures for your Home” building at 305 Bradford Street.

Atlas, which is currently located on the square, plans to "extensively" renovate the top floor of the building over the next four months and add the following:

*Outdoor patio dining via a large porch perched above Bradford and North streets, seating 60-80 people
*A large full sports bar area featuring 20+ 60-inch plasma TVs, four pool tables, three dart board alleys and a golf simulator
*Fully furnished musician stage for local artists and groups
*Separate family-oriented kids area with video games, skee ball, and basketball goal
*Local artist displays and sales with artist retaining 100% of the proceeds

Local owners bothers Mark and Vic Jordan said, “We have been fortunate to have grown very quickly and really see the need to expand to better serve our customers who have been very loyal to our restaurant. Gainesville needs a larger restaurant with more amenities to enjoy. We make great food and now the atmosphere will be even more fun! The outdoor dining we have on the Square will drastically enlarged.”

Lakeview Interiors and Antiques which occupies the lower 16,000 square feet floor will remain open and plans on signing a longer term lease, according to Brent Hoffman with Prudential Georgia Realty who sold the facility.

“Mark and Vic have a fantastic business plan to expand. This 16,000 s.f. main floor has tremendous visibility for Atlas and the addition of a sports bar draw will really attract more customers. The separate family area will really appeal to the young families who crave a fun but family oriented atmosphere. Look for more grand opening information in the late summer,” according to Hoffman.
