Atlanta Falcons, local celebs team up for child abuse prevention awareness
FLOWERY BRANCH – Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Peter Konz, defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi, defensive end Cliff Matthews and other Atlanta Falcons players alongside other local celebrities will serve as waiters at Mellow Mushroom in Gainesville for Celebrity Server Night this Thursday, April 11.
All tips collected will benefit the Edmondson-Telford Center for Children.
The Edmondson‐Telford Center provides services to Hall and Dawson County residents under the age of 18 who are victims of sexual or severe physical abuse or neglect, as well as their non‐offending family members.
The Center has served over 1,200 children and families since beginning in 1997. Edmondson‐Telford has conducted over 500 forensic examination interviews of sexually abused victims and coordinated hundreds of child abuse investigations with law enforcement and social services agencies. All services are provided free‐of‐charge to victims.
This Thursday's event is part of a month-long effort to promote awareness and prevention of child sexual abuse.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mellow Mushroom, 700 Green Street, Gainesville.
