CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Police Chief John Foster reports an arrest in connection with a purse snatching incident in the city of Cleveland Sunday night.

Foster said the incident happened at Family Dollar Store around 7 p.m. The purse of 71-year-old Delma Blackburn of Cleveland was snatched. Witnesses to the incident were able to get a tag number of the person involved.

Foster said the tag number was checked out and it came back on a 2004 red Toyota Camry, which reportedly was owned by 24-year-old Joshua Garrett of Dahlonega.

According to Foster, Garrett was arrested and charged with robbery by sudden snatch. Foster said the purse possibly was thrown from the vehicle on Old Highway 75 south of Cleveland and he ask if anyone sees the purse to contact Cleveland Police Department so they can process that piece of evidence.

Foster also asks any other witnesses to the crime that left the scene before talking to police to contact Cleveland Police Department at (706) 865-2111.
