Soccer: Johnson boys shut out Lanier, 5-0

OAKWOOD -- The Johnson boys soccer team cruised past Lanier 5-0 on Tuesday in Oakwood.

The Knights (8-1-1, 4-0 Region 8-AAAA) were led by five different scorers, as Luis del Toro, Jonathan Mendoza, Luis Hernandez, Fabian Abarca and Fidel Rodriguez each notched goals in the win -- del Toro also had two assists, while Mendoza, Abarca and Rodriguez also had one assist each.

Alan Morales had the shutout in goal for Johnson with seven saves.

The Knights travel to face Chestatee on Friday in a key Region 8-AAAA showdown.
