Tennis: Lady Elephants dominate Winder

WINDER -- The Gainesville girls tennis team lost just two games in taking a dominating 5-0 victory over Winder-Barrow Tuesday in Region 8-AAAAA play.

In singles, Brinkley Frankum beat Carlee Thurmond 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Georgia Summer beat Marie Herr 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, and Katherine Wright beat Hannah Easterling 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

In doubles, Morgan Mercer and Lauren Carter whipped Maddie Dupresne and Michelle Tippens 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Martha McKinnon and Katherine Anderson beat Dianna Carranea & Haleigh Easterling 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Elephants will play host to Union Grove on Thursday and fellow Region 8-AAAAA foe Loganville on Thursday.
