COMMERCE - 14 people, seven adults and seven juveniles, were arrested Saturday night at a party in Commerce, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the disturbance call at the Mount Olive Townhomes. In a department news release, authorities said responding officers spotted several people outside drinking. Several allegedly ran when deputies pulled up. One of them, investigators said, was underage.
The homeowner told law enforcement they were holding a birthday party. According to the sheriff's office, the homeowner allowed officers to enter the residence.
Once inside, investigators could smell a odor of marijuana and alcohol, according to the release. There were approximately 25 people inside.
Deputies found two people inside that were passed out and unresponsive. Sheriff Janis Mangum said they were taken to the hospital.
"They were treated for alcohol poisoning and released later on. They did not spend the night in the hospital," Mangum said.
Among the seven adults, the two homeowners, 24 year old Joshua Hill and 22 year old Ellen Chansombath, were arrested for providing alcohol to minors and disorderly house.
Five adults arrested for contributing included 20 year old James Scannell, 17 year old Tony Yang, 19 year old Jessie Thao, 19 year old Nellie Chansombath, and 20 year old Dat Pham.
The seven juveniles were arrested for underage drinking, according to Mangum.
