JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson baseball team split contests on Saturday at a tournament held at Jackson County High in Jefferson.
The Dragons (10-2) fell to Eastside 9-7 to open the day before defeating Jackson County 6-3 in their second contest.
Taylor Wilkes suffered the loss in Game 1.
Jefferson's Tyler Cole helped Jefferson keep pace at the plate, smacking a two-run home run while going 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs and 2 walks. Hannon Price and Max Ford also each doubled and drove in runs.
Jacob Page helped the Dragons bounce back in Game 2, earning the win on the mound. Micah Carpenter also pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, while Max Ford earned the save in 1 inning of work.
Andy Nicolaus led Jefferson at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, helping the Dragons to a 5-1 lead in the first inning. Carson also went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Trent Sorrells and Jake Franklin each drove in runs and Price doubled.
Jefferson will play host to Union County on Tuesday.
