Tennis: North Hall girls make impression at Granger Invitational

LaGRANGE -- The North Hall girls tennis team finished as runner-up in the Division 2 bracket of the Granger Invitational Tournament on Saturday in LaGrange.

The Lady Trojans defeated Calhoun and Holy Innocents and fell to North Cobb in a division that included 14 teams.

North Hall edged Calhoun 3-2, including a win for Natalie Oxley at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2, as well as for Tricia Dial at No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-4. The No. 2 doubles team of MaryClare Patterson/Karleigh Dills also won 6-4, 6-3.

The Lady Trojans also defeated Holy Innocents 4-1, including wins for Kelsey McCray at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 10-5, No. 3 singles for Dial, 6-2, 6-3 and both doubles points.

Dial won all three of her matches on Saturday at No. 3 singles, including a 6-2, 6-2 win against North Cobb.

North Hall hosts West Hall on Tuesday.
