COLUMBUS -– University of North Georgia women's basketball player Jaymee Carnes has been named to the Daktronics All-Region First Team for the second year in a row, adding to her already impressive resume.

Carnes is now a two-time All-Southeast Region selection and two-time All-Peach Belt Conference recipient. She was also selected to the PBC Preseason All-Conference team this past season and was named to the PBC Tournament's All-Tournament team after earning Daktronics National, Southeast Region and PBC Player of the Year plaudits a year ago.

The junior forward from Gainesville, Ga. followed up her stellar sophomore campaign with another solid performance of averaging 17.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season. Carnes led the Saints back to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament for the first time since 2009 and also led the team to its first-ever appearance in the tournament championship game.

Carnes logged the second-most minutes on the team at 903, an average of 33.4 minutes per game, while leading the team in scoring, rebounding, field goals made (193), field goals attempted (434) and blocked shots (55). She finished the year with 11 double-doubles and scored 20 or more points nine times while scoring in double-digits points in every game she played in.

This season, she finished in the top-10 in the PBC in five different categories including second in rebounds and blocks per game (2.0), third in scoring, fourth in field goals per game (7.1) and eighth in minutes per game. She was also 21st in field goal percentage (44.5 percent).

Joining Carnes on the team from the PBC is Southeast Region and PBC Player of the Year Drameka Griggs from Clayton State University. The University of Montevallo's Taylor Beverly, Flagler College's Williesha Spencer and the University of South Carolina Aiken's Daniela Tarailo were all named to the All-Region Second Team.

The region teams are sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The region teams were voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
