United Way of Hall County surpasses goal

GAINESVILLE - United Way of Hall County celebrated success in its annual campaign Thursday.

The celebration at the Gainesville Civic Center revealed a total that exceeded the campaign goal. Volunteers and donors raised $1,805,526, according to the charity's website.

The following companies were the Top 10 Fundraisers among participating businesses:

Publix Super Markets -$240,501.00

Northeast Georgia Health System - $132,519.00

Fieldale Farms - $95,333.00

Cargill - $88,470.00

Hall County School System - $69,360.00

Wrigley - $64,000.00

Wilheit Packaging - $48,566.00

Conditioned Air Systems - $43,051.00

Schreiber Foods - $39,597.00

BB&T - $37,159.00

Officials with the organization made the announcment of the total with a "Harlem Shake" video.
