Gainesville-Hall healthcare study results released
GAINESVILLE - A recent healthcare study conducted over three years by a group of healthcare leaders in Hall County found high rates of obesity and diabetes among the adult population of Gainesville and Hall County.
Elements of the study, put on by the Healthcare Initiative Consortium, coordinated by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Vision 2030 team, came from medical information system technology made available by consortium members, and included data on patients 18 and older seen in 2011.
Information included in the snapshot, which was presented to the Greater Hall Chamber Healthcare Committee earlier this week, was body mass index, Cholesterol, risk of diabetes and Hypertension.
The total number of patients in the sample was 21,808 with the majority seen between the ages of 30-55.
