Gov. Deal appoints solicitor-general for Forsyth CountyBy Derreck Booth Editor ATLANTA - Governor Nathan Deal has appointed a new solicitor-general for Forsyth County, filling a vacancy left by an earlier appointment.
According to the governor's office, Donna S. Gopaul of Cumming will take the position. Gopaul fills the vacancy created by the appointment of Leslie Abernathy Maddox to a state court judgeship in Forsyth County. Gopaul owns her own law firm and previously served as assistant public defender in the Griffin Judicial Circuit and as assistant solicitor-general in the Forsyth County Solicitor-General’s Office. According to the governor's office, Gopaul got her bachelor's from Agnes Scott College and her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
