CUMMING - In a recent ceremony, the Forsyth County Fire Department promoted six personnel and recognized a retirement.
Lieutenant Barry Head was formally promoted to the rank of division chief, fire marshal. Head began his career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in August 1997.
Arson Investigator Debbie Lindstrom was formally promoted to the rank of deputy fire marshal. Lindstrom began her career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in April 2002.
Senior Vehicle Equipment Technician Matthew Suggs was formally promoted to the rank of maintenance supervisor. Suggs began his career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in February 2000.
Firefighter/EMT Brian Christie was formally promoted to the rank of lieutenant during the ceremony. Christie began his career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in June 2005 and is currently stationed at Fire Station 3.
Firefighter/EMT Jeremy Hamilton was formally promoted to the rank of lieutenant during the ceremony. Hamilton began his career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in July 2007 and is currently stationed at Fire Station 5.
Vehicle Equipment Technician Jack Tribble was formally promoted to the rank of senior vehicle equipment technician. Tribble began his career with the Forsyth County Fire Department in January 2004.
“The dedication and leadership exhibited by these members of the Fire Department is to be commended,” Fire Chief Danny Bowman said. “It is with tremendous pride that we promote them to their new ranks and positions within the department.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the department recognized the recent retirement of Captain Dwight Clark, who is ending a 54-year career in fire service. Clark began his career in San Angelo, Texas in July 1959 and, following a tour with the Georgia Fire Academy, came to Forsyth County in April 2001.
