MOUNT AIRY -- In his first career varsity start, Gainesville High freshman Jonathan Gettys showed plenty, striking out seven and allowing just one hit, as the Red Elephants shut out Habersham Central 6-0 in Mt. Airy.
Gettys earned the win on the mound for Gainesville (6-0), while Hunter Anglin pitched two innings, striking out three.
Jonathan's older brother Michael also dominated at the plate, producing two hits and an RBI -- ad did Anglin. Skyler Weber also had two hits.
Luke Moore and Caleb Whitenton also had a hit and an RBI apiece.
Gainesville will play host to Mountain View at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
