CLARKESVILLE -- The Gainesville boys golf team racked up another tournament win on Saturday, claiming the the Apple Mountain Invitational with a team score of 2-over 290.
The Red Elephants edged out Peachtree Ridge by one stroke.
Pep Brown led the "red" team (Gainesville entered two squads in the event) with a 70, while Lawson King fired a 72, and Nathan Williams and Jackson Bishop each carded a 74. Reeves Bell also shot 78 for the Red Team.
For the White Team, which shot a 319, Spencer Ralston fired a 72, Grant Lasseter a 79, Webber Wycoff an 82, and Davis Brown an 86.
The win came against a strong 21-team field with all classifications represented and was the program's second victory in two events this season.
The Red Elephants play again at the Hall County Championships at Royal Lakes Golf Club in Oakwood on Monday and Tuesday.
