Monroe man arrested in Winder armed robbery

WINDER - Winder police have arrested a man for the armed robbery of a package store in January.

Authorities say a six week investigation by detectives of the Winder Police along with assistance from officers with the Monroe Police Department netted the arrest of Scott Dujvan Hazel, 25, of Monroe.

Law enforcement received tips about Hazel after circulating still photos from the surveillance video of the robbery.

Hazel is charged with one count of armed robbery of the Best Package Store in Winder back on January 19 of this year.

A search warrant was executed at Hazel’s residence in Monroe and several items of evidence were seized.

Hazel was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center after his arrest.
