Repair work on Bradford to begin this weekBy Derreck Booth Editor GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Public Works crews Thursday were scheduled to begin repair work on a stretch of Bradford Street, damaged by a sinkhole last month.
According to the public works department, one lane of Bradford will close between West Academy and Forrest Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. The work is expected to take about two weeks to finish. Strickland and Sons Pipeline, a contractor working for the city, discovered the hole while replacing sanitary sewer for the Gainesville Public Utilities department. The city initially closed the stretch February 4 to assess the street's safety. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
