HOSCHTON - Jackson County fire officials said an intentional paper and trash burn outside a Hoschton commercial building ended up spreading to the building Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters said it happened around 2:40 p.m. at 3340 Highway 53. On arrival, they found burning tires on the exterior of the metal building. Those flames extended inside.

Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols described the damage as moderate. No one was hurt.

Firefighters from West Jackson, Jackson Trail, North Jackson, and the Jackson County Correctional Institute Fire Departments responded.
