Soccer: Gainesville girls crush Clarke Central, 8-0

ATHENS -- The Gainesville girls soccer team blasted Clarke Central 8-0 on Tuesday in Athens.

Anna Youmans and Hartley Carter each scored three times for the Lady Red Elephants (5-1-1, 1-0 Region 8-AAAAA), while Mary-Catherine Dempsey added one goal and one assist.

Ashley Gonzalez recorded the shutout in goal for Gainesville with three saves.

The Lady Red Elephants will play again on March 15 against Salem at 5:30 p.m. at City Park.
