COMMERCE - After a complainant changed his story several times, Banks County authorities said they have closed a reported armed robbery case at Banks Crossing.

The man who called authorities initially told investigators he had pulled up to the gas island at the Race Trac convenience store around 5 p.m. Monday. He told investigators a white car pulled in behind his vehicle and a man got out of the car and jumped into the passenger side of his vehicle. He claimed the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money.

Authorities issued an areawide lookout for the suspect at the time of the reported incident.

Investigators said they could not substantiate the robbery claim, so they consider the case closed.
