DAWSONVILLE — Residents along the Georgia 400 corridor soon will have local access to the services provided by the Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) through a new facility in Dawsonville.

Medical Plaza 400, located on Georgia 400 just north of State Route 53, is scheduled to open in early April and will offer a wealth of services to Georgia 400 corridor residents, including:

• Urgent Care, open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week
• All digital Imaging Center, including in-house MRI and CT, with an on-site, ACR board certified radiologist
• HealthLink Laboratory
• Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Family Medicine (relocating from their current location on Hwy. 53)
• Physician specialists including gastroenterology, neurology, OB/GYN, sports medicine, surgery and urology

“Our patients will enjoy an enhanced patient experience at Medical Plaza 400, as we all work in concert to offer seamless, comprehensive care across all services and specialties,” says Jo Brewer, Administrative Director of Medical Plaza 400. “Our approach is unique, and I think patients will quickly see the difference.”

Design elements of the building mimic the design of NGHS’ other locations, such as the North Patient Tower in Gainesville, which has been recognized for its best practice use of natural light, soothing colors and appealing artwork to create a healing environment. The Imaging Center will offer patient amenities such as warm robes, gourmet refreshments and private waiting areas for men and women in a spa-like atmosphere that has earned national recognition at the Center’s Gainesville and Braselton locations. From a clinical perspective, the Imaging Center boasts American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation for its in-house MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography services and is also an ACR Breast Center of Excellence.

As part of the opening of the new facility, NGPG Family Medicine will relocated to Medicdal Plaza 400. NGPG Dawsonville opened in Dawsonville in 1995. Family Medicine Physician Paul Behrmann, MD, says the move to Medical Plaza 400 is an exciting one for their practice.

“The convenient access to imaging diagnostics, with same-day appointment availability, and such a breadth of physician specialties will be a great benefit to our patients,” says Dr. Behrmann.

“The 400 corridor community is an integral part of the region we’ve served for decades,” says Carol Burrell, President and CEO of NGHS. “In addition to our local family medicine and outpatient rehabilitation offices, we care for a significant number of this community’s residents in Gainesville at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and through our Urgent Care and Imaging Center locations. I am so pleased that we are bringing more outpatient services and advanced physician specialties closer to home for the residents of this area.”
