Arson fire at 357 Diane Circle, Dawsonville
DAWSONVILLE - Authorities Monday announced the arrests of a husband and wife and warrants for a third suspect in connection with a 2012 arson fire in Dawsonville.

31 year old James Henry Rains and his wife, 31 year old Gloria Ann Rains, were arrested last week, according to Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens.

James Rains is charged with first-degree arson and probation violation. Gloria Rains is charged with making false statements, concealment of facts and probation violation.

Authorities have issued a warrant for 45 year old William P. Thurmond of Dawson County. According to Hudgens, Thurmond will be charged with first-degree arson, making false statements and concealment of facts.

The fire at 357 Diane Circle in Dawsonville did heavy damage to the house on April 26 of last year. Hudgens said the Rains were in the process of being evicted from the rental house when the fire happened. Both were being held in the Dawson County Detention Center.

The state fire marshall's office was assisted in the investigation by the Dawson County Sheriff's Office.

First-degree arson is a felony, with a penalty of one to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $50,000, according to Hudgens.
