DAHLONEGA - A Richmond Hill, New York, man was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta late Monday morning following a traffic accident in Lumpkin County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, 58 year old Nandor Ludvig was suffering from hypothermia when authorities rescued him from the wreckage.

While the accident on Highway 60 was reported around 11:20 a.m., troopers believe it happened several hours earlier.

Authorities said Ludvig's 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on 60 and left the road in a curve. The car went off a steep embankment, went airborne, hit several trees, overturned and hit several other trees before coming to rest on its wheels, according to the patrol.

Lumpkin County authorities had earlier confirmed the accident happened near Dockery Lake, north of Dahlonega.
