GAINESVILLE - Congressman Doug Collins of Gainesville Monday announced a firearms safety program for any constituents in the Ninth Congressional District.
The hour and a half long program is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, from the Georgia Mountains Center in Gainesville. According to Collins office, the free program will be taught by members of the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
It's slated to address handgun and rifle safety.
Collins, the son of a retired Georgia State Trooper said he grew up learning to respect firearms and the rights of firearms owners.
"I believe comprehensive and thorough firearm safety training is a responsibility all gun owners should have, and that is why our office is so thrilled to be offering this free event to the great people of Georgia's Ninth District," Collins said.
The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
