Videos: Semifinal success built on seniority for three area teams
By Morgan Lee Editor
It's been thrilling, dramatic and just bit intense -- and incredibly successful.
Welcome to the 2012-13 high school basketball season in northeast Georgia, where five area teams are still battling toward the ultimate goal of a state championship.
The Buford, Gainesville and North Hall boys will all take their shots at state title games on Saturday, while the Dawson County girls will battle for a Class AAA title berth on Saturday and the Towns County girls will face a Class A semifinal on Friday.
Access North Georgia.com and WDUN Radio will be on hand to keep you up to date with all five showdowns this weekend (click here for a detailed radio and internet schedule). But as three area teams took the last few hours to prepare for their semifinal tests, Access North Georgia.com sports editor Morgan Lee caught up with them to talk about their extraordinary journeys this season.
Each of the three share a common link -- unity.
The Dawson County girls and Gainesville and North Hall boys each feature plenty of seniors that have put in countless hours and sacrifices to get to this point, and each program is determined to continue to make those efforts pay off this weekend.

The Dawson County girls are making their first state semifinal run since 1992 -- in the first state playoff appearance for each player on the team...
The Gainesville boys are back in the Class AAA "Final Four" for the first time since 2009, when each of this year's senior class were middle school competitors hoping to make their own run some day...
North Hall's seniors had a taste of history in 2010 when they were freshmen, and now they hope to take it one step further as seniors...
