Driver charged in White County wreck that hurt twoBy Dean Dyer Staff CLEVELAND – The driver involved in a wreck that injured two Saturday night in White County faces several charges.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the wreck occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Post Road south of Cleveland. Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville said there was only one vehicle involved, it was driven by 20-year-old Dillon Anthony Fowler of Cleveland. Fowler and a passenger, 19-year-old Jesse Owenby of Cleveland, were injured. Johnson said Fowler’s vehicle was traveling north on Post Road when he ran off the road and lost control. The vehicle ran off the shoulder of the road and overturned several times, striking a highway sign and some trees. Both victims were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with what Johnson described non life-threatening injuries. Johnson said alcohol was involved, and the driver faces charges of driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, and open container violation. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
